Rant: Trying to be Edgy/Nerdy
I'm seeing this more and more and it's nearly if not always directed towards females for some reason. She's trying to be "nerdyyyy XD" or edgy, etc. Maybe that's the case with some people, sure, but in every single case where someone (especially a female) happens to be wearing even one thing that you or some other douche might percieve as a little less than typical or mainstream or whatthefuckever? Get off your fucking overly critical high horse and get the fuck over yourself. Honestly, if you think that every single fucking female must dress like catalogue models or housewives, or whatever the fuck you actually think they're supposed to dress like, then you're a fucking retard living in lala land and have the intellectual depth and understanding of a fucking peanut.
Perhaps if you actually used your brain instead of mouthing off like a barking dog in mindless tirades probably designed, on some level at least, to make you feel and appear somehow superior, you'd be able to concieve of other possibilities including but not necessarily limited to the following:
The female in question isn't actually trying to be edgy: rather they just like what they're wearing or the paraphernalia they own/collect, or activity(ies) they engage in, and don't even see themselves as doing anything nerdy or edgy (or they may recognize that it could be seen that way, however it's not by deliberate design).
Men aren't the only ones that can be nerdy.
We live in a more liberal era where traditional roles are fading into an increasingly irrelevant thing of the past. This would allow women to find themselves sharing more in many of the same interests and characteristics as men, just as men are more able to share in interests and characteristics traditionally thought to be feminine.
Social media has made a lot more people a lot more visible, so you see a much greater variety and diversity of people than we would have been exposed to in the past.
People who don't get this are knuckle dragging sexist cavemen that have failed to evolve with the rest of us and will be left behind and looked upon as ancient relics.
I think that as with many other things, the "they're trying to be edgy/cool/nerdy" or being an attention whore, is just a popular bandwagon a lot of people jump on to feel superior: and let's be real, a lot of people do try to feel superior, so this isn't exactly a big fucking leap. To clarify I'm not saying there aren't attention whores and such, but when you're immediately jumping to that conclusion every single fucking time anyone does anything remotely out of the general norm, then maybe you should stop and actually think about it more rather than being like a dog barking at moving cars.
